Wilsons SM (Medicated) 10g
Wilsons SM (Medicated) 10g
Wilsons SM is one of a series of four offerings based on different degrees of medication added to quality fermented tobaccos that emulate a traditional Sales and Pollard composition. These aromatic cultivars are then treated to certain classic scents that are identified by overtones of bergamot, orange blossom and the bitter savor of blood orange zest. There is also a special mix of menthol, eucalyptus and camphor present in different proportions in each version. This quartet of tinned pleasure represents varied measures of spice and nicotine that are unique to each blend. The color is cacao powder brown, medium moisture and a medium coarse grind; qualifiers shared by all. Try them all and find the one for you. Happy snuffing.
This particular iteration is formulated with a strong nicotine content and medium menthol.

Wilsons's SM is a snuff that I inexplicably put off trying for months after purchasing. Naturally enough, my response after trying it for the first time was to wonder why I waited so long. Out of the tin, aromas of menthol, eucalyptus, and earthy, woody tobacco are immediately evident. As soon as this snuff hits the front of the nose, it delivers a rather powerful blast of menthol and eucalyptus followed by a delightful and persistent cooling impression. The tobacco impressions do not totally linger in the background as notes of wood, straw, hay, lemon, earth, biscuit, brown sugar, black pepper, leather, and chocolate are relatively quick to make themselves known. It could just be me, but I also occasionally pick up on some hints of bergamot, geranium, spearmint, and camphor, though I do not recall whether or not those scents were incorporated into this blend. I kind of doubt that is the case, but I still pick up on those impressions all the same. The grind of this snuff is medium, and the moisture content is also medium. It sits in the nose wonderfully and provides a rush of nicotine that is somewhat stronger than average. Fans of traditional English medicated snuffs really should give this snuff a try. I doubt it will disappoint in any way. It is a wonderfully balanced medicated snuff that displays satisfying complexity and is easy to take.
