Lundy Foote is a finely milled, toasted, high nicotine blend, named in memory of the 18th century Dublin snuff chandler and Michael Larey, the "Irish blackguard", who inadvertently invented Scotch (scorched) snuff when he fell into a drunken stupor and allowed tobacco drying in a kiln to roast.

NB: As with any natural tobacco product, artisan nasal snuff can be susceptible to mould if it is not stored correctly. All of our snuffs are heat treated before packing to ensure an indefinite shelf-life whilst in the original, unopened containers. Our snuffs are traditionally made without chemical preservatives and we recommend that once opened the snuffs should be kept in the tightly closed brand container and stored in a refrigerator. Only decant using a clean, dry implement.

Toasty goodness

Working my way through the SWS line and this is another fantastic blend. It achieves that toast flavor, but does it with a medium grind and avoids that "powder blast to the back of the throat." This is a keeper.

An excellent antique styled toast snuff

Lundy Foote is much more the antique Irish toast, it must be based off an old recipe as it is nothing like the WoS toasts. While they are good, this has a more dark husky tobacco that comes through with equal amounts of tarmac and leather. MUCH more leathery than most snuffs I’ve had. My first SWS and I’m quite impressed. It’s so easy to take, also. That tangy Virginia does shine through and the rustica adds some body. Higher nicotine also. They’re really different, IMO and not much alike sans the toasting aspect. It's also different than the American scotches, which crank up the bonfire, sawdust and Hickory smoke that overpowers. Excellent snuff.

Bready earthiness

Pure bready goodness. Barely a hint of sweetness. Good nicotine. If you love plain/bready tobacco you will love this. Absolutely gorgeous and a staple.

Traditional snuff recipe

Few words I will need to describe this excellent snuff. Pure and traditional tobacco snuff ( not for scented or flavored snuff lovers).
Lundy Foot keeps the tradition, the old snuffs recipe. Fine grind, pure aroma, remains in your nose and mouth. Included between my top 3 as the FIRST.

Baked goods and happiness

The title says exactly what I said after first smelling the contents of the tin. Dry like you would expect, but not difficult to take. Definitely a new favorite!
